Events & Outings

Fun, inclusive activities for Ohana clients and their families.

At Ohana Home Care Agency, we believe in supporting the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Our Events & Outings program is designed to help clients stay engaged, connected, and active in the community through meaningful experiences.


From enjoying art at the Detroit Institute of Arts, to savoring cider and doughnuts at Franklin Cider Mill, our outings give clients the chance to experience the best our city and surrounding areas have to offer.


These outings are open to all interested Ohana clients. Family members are always welcome, and caregivers attend each outing to ensure comfort, safety, and support.

The Henry Ford - Sensory-Friendly Movie Experience

Dates: April 11, 2026

 Blue Whales: Return of the Giants 

Location: Giant Screen Experience

Cost: Free with registration
Description: Short educational films in a sensory-friendly theater environment.

DIA Sensory-Friendly Saturdays

Date: May 3, 2026

Time: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

 This session’s project: Uchiwa – Paper Fan 

Location: Detroit Institute of Arts - Art-Making Studio
Description: A peaceful, inclusive art-making session for all ages. All materials provided.

Sensory-Friendly Motown Concert

Date: Sunday, February 22, 2026

Time: 2:00 PM

Location: The Peter D. & Julie F. Cummings Cube

Cost: Free with registration 

Description: An interactive Motown-themed concert featuring Charles Prophet Jr., with dancing, crafts, and sensory accommodations.

Outdoor Adventure Center – Sensory-Friendly Day

Date: Sunday, April 12, 2026

Time: 10:30 - 11:30 AM

Location: Michigan DNR Outdoor Adventure Center
Description: A calm, nature-themed experience with reduced noise, sensory materials, and a quiet room.
